NCKU professor develops analytic platform to foster better medicine products

Tainan, Taiwan, June 3, 2015

Professor Chris Gwo Giun Lee from the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, has developed an analytic platform providing foundation for efficient, rapid processing of algorithms for development of precision medicine products, the university revealed recently.

Inform Genomics, Inc., a privately held company that utilizesa proprietary analytic platform to develop genomic-based, precision medicine products, had offered cooperation with Lee.

Both organizations had established strategic collaboration and a press release was distributed by Inform Genomics to announce the license agreement on June 1.

According to the news release, “… an agreement by which Inform Genomics will receive the license to US Patent Numbers 8,522,224 and 8,621,414 for the exclusive use by Inform Genomics to develop precision medicine products.”

Lee said, “The licensed patents will prove invaluable for the development of Inform Genomic’s analytic architecture and will be able to substantiate optimization of both the efficiency and robustness of their algorithms while creating a state-of-the-art, scalable platform.”

“Our NCKU team is very pleased to be part of this international top-notch organization crossing multiple disciplines including medicine, biology, statistics, and within engineering, machine learning algorithm and system architecture,” he added.

“The combination of our partnership with help establish NCKU and Inform Genomics as leaders in the field of precision medicine,” according to Lee.
