TRA, NCKU sign cooperation framework for talent cultivation

Tainan, Taiwan, January 13, 2016

A signing ceremony marked the establishment of cooperation framework for talent cultivation between Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) and National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) took place today, January 13, 9:30am, at the Department of Transportation and Communication, NCKU.

NCKU President Huey-Jen Jenny Su and TRA Director-General Yung-Hui Chou on behalf of both organizations signed the cooperation framework.

Chou said that he is very happy to see the collaboration kick off.

He also noted, with the cooperation framework the new generation for TRA has become possible.

TRA have collaborated with NCKU since 1931 and the BK24 steam locomotive given by TRA to NCKU is the token of their partnership.

This locomotive is currently the third oldest steam locomotive with national treasure status, the first in the nation and the only steam locomotive teaching aid in Taiwan.

After signing the cooperation framework, Chou said, TRA will give NCKU the R100 diesel-electric locomotive to mark the start of another new milestone.
