2014 NCKU student forum to kick off on April 14 (test)

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, hosts a grand opening ceremony, April 9, to announce the start of the 2014 NCKU Student Forum with crowds of students and teachers gathering to enjoy the show featuring the ten-year efforts of this one of the most extraordinary activities in the university.

The ceremony is organized like a court drama with characters like queen, duke, soldiers and the scene set in a grand castle developing from a village to a small town symbolizing the growth of the forum in the past ten years.

Dr. Huey-Jen Jenny Su, Executive Vice President of NCKU, is dressed as the queen to host the ceremony and said, “The students in NCKU are active in learning and dare to challenge themselves and the efforts the students take in the past ten years is fruitful.”

This forum will represent the efforts of the past ten years including the issues of liberal arts education, creative design, theater thinking and sports, according to VP Su.

The 2014 NCKU Student Forum is scheduled from April 14 to 23 with four forums to mark the significant efforts in the past ten years, according to the university.

The NCKU Student Forum with its great tradition and contribution is coming to the tenth year and this year’s student forum is themed as “A Decade of Efforts (十年有成)” to celebrate the joy of growth.

The four forums categorized into four topics – physical education, design thinking, theater profession, and liberal arts education will take place on April 14, 16, 21, and 23 respectively.
