President Huey-Jen Jenny Su from National Cheng Kung University attended the “The 5th Global Corporate Sustainability Forum (GCSF) Opening Ceremony and Award Ceremony 2022” held at The Grand Hotel Taipei on the morning of 16th Nov. Being recommended by the Mayor of Tainan City, Huang Wei-Che and the President of Yizai Association, Li-Fen, Chen, President Su was selected as the “Outstanding Professional Award” of the 2022 Global Corporate Sustainability Award (GCSA), and the trophy was personally presented by Jong-Tsun Huang, President of the Examination Yuan.
 
 
President Su incorporated 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the development of NCKU, took stock of the resources of various faculties, launched a total of 1,500 sustainability courses, and set up the 「NCKU 2030」website to implement sustainable development and solutions. In addition, President Su focused on cultivating future leaders across fields, establishing “College X”, setting up an English-taught “International Energy Program” and a “Cross-Field Sustainability Development Credit Program”, and establishing the “Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing” in response to national industrial development and global green energy technology trends.
 
Under the leadership of President Su, NCKU became the first university in Taiwan to join The SDG Accord as a higher education institution, and in 2022, it was ranked first in the country and 33rd in the world by Times Higher Education (THE) in the World University Impact Ranking.

In terms of promoting national development, President Su has used her professional advocacy for promoting Taiwan to become the second country in Asia which legislate to regulate indoor air quality, served as a member of the National Sustainable Development Committee of the Executive Yuan for years. She also combined the resources of industry, government and academia during her tenure as President of National Cheng Kung University to help promote large-scale national construction projects such as " the Greater South Silicon Corridor " and the "Shalun Green Energy Science City", driving the smart transformation of cities and leading researchers in the university to invest in researches of energy, green building and green energy transformation technology and development, supporting industries to implement applied measures that are conducive to improving climate change and environmental sustainability.
 
The 5th GCSF Global Business Sustainability Forum 2022 was held under the theme "Road to Net Zero!” Connecting the public and private sectors, industrial supply chains, academia and research, and the public, the global net-zero sustainability trend topics will be brought together through keynote speeches, workshops, seminars, etc.. Through the sharing and interaction of all sectors in Taiwan, the industry, government and academia will be condensed to jointly respond to and strive for a comprehensive and substantial transformation.
 
Following receiving the Outstanding Professional Award in the morning, President Su is expected to give a speech about "Global Sustainable Development: SDGs in Practice of Universities" at the " SDGs School Affairs Innovation and University Social Responsibility " session of the Global Corporate Sustainability Forum in the afternoon, sharing the various sustainability initiatives proposed by NCKU through university governance and daily operations in the past few years using the SDGs as a language of communication with the world. Besides, also about NCKU participate from local cities to the world, combine innovative knowledge and technology research and development, education, and work for sustainable development with teachers and students, and practice SDGs and university social responsibility.
 
President Su received a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Health Sciences, Harvard School of Public Health, and serving as the President of National Cheng Kung University since 2015. In 2015, she took over the Chairman of the Higher Education International Cooperation Foundation. In 2017, she served as the Chairman of the National University Association of Republic of China (Taiwan); In 2017, she won the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s Leadership Award in Public Health Practice; In 2018, she also won the Asian Scientist - "Top 100 Scientists in Asia" and the 2017 Outstanding Research Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology; In 2018, with her expertise as an expert in indoor air pollution, she was named one of the top 10 Science stars of East Asia by the journal Nature.
