NCKU Tops Enterprise Favorite Ranks for the 12th Consecutive Year: Exhibiting Pragmatic and Steady Academic-Industrial Links

The results of the 2026 General Scholastic Ability Test was released on February 25. Global Views has recently published its 2026 Enterprises’ Favorite College Students Survey Rankings, aiming to serve as an important reference for students when choosing their university programs. According to the survey results, National Cheng Kung University ranked first overall, marking its 12th consecutive year at the top. Global Views noted that NCKU’s pragmatic and steady academic culture has become a strong support for Taiwan’s industries, demonstrating its leading position among universities.

Since taking office, NCKU President Meng-Ru Shen has promoted key initiatives, including “net-zero carbon emissions,” “disaster resilience,” “health and well-being,” and “humanistic values.” Looking ahead, he has outlined three main development directions:
★ NCKU will focus on student-centered education. In addition to professional skills, NCKU will strengthen humanities, aesthetics, interdisciplinary courses, and life education, aiming to cultivate well-rounded graduates with empathy and teamwork skills.
★ NCKU will respond to the challenges of the AI era by building infrastructure centered on databases, computing power, cybersecurity, and smart applications to support education and research.
★ NCKU, approaching its centennial, will integrate research capacity with industry partnerships and focus on key national issues such as energy, climate resilience, information security, and technological self-reliance, continuing to serve as a major academic driver in Taiwan.
