The vibrant cross-disciplinary mixed relay race at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) entered its fourth day. Although an autumn typhoon affecting eastern Taiwan brought frequent gusts of wind across NCKU's Kuang-Fu Athletic Field, it could not dampen the participants' enthusiasm and energy. NCKU Vice President Yuh-Neu Chen visited the field in person to encourage the students to give their all, bringing a warm burst of positive energy to the high-spirited event.

Excess energy and academic stress accumulated from daily life were fully released on the track.

Facing the autumn winds sweeping across the track, Vice President Yuh-Neu Chen used the direction of the wind as a touching metaphor for life during her opening remarks. She shared: "The wind on the field today is a bit stronger. As you run during the race, some of you are running with a tailwind, while others are facing a headwind. This is just like the journey of our long lives." Vice President Chen encouraged all NCKU students to deeply embrace the life philosophy of "taking off against the wind and sailing far with it"—building strength to courageously take off when facing adversity and challenges, while capitalizing on momentum to aim far when favorable conditions and opportunities arrive. Additionally, Vice President Chen encouraged everyone to participate in sports regularly, fully releasing their daily excess energy and academic stress on the athletic field to achieve an optimal balance of body and mind.

Beyond the warm and inspiring remarks on the sidelines, the intense competition and diverse lineups on the track were the two primary highlights of today's event:

Riding the momentum of last year's grand championship, team "Guang-Cao Bu Lian, Liang-Wan Zhe-Xian" returned with formidable energy once again.

Highlight 1: Defending champions return in force; "Guang-Cao Bu Lian, Liang-Wan Zhe-Xian (光操不練 兩萬折現)" demonstrates exceptional chemistry. Riding the brilliant momentum of winning last year's overall championship, team "Guang-Cao Bu Lian, Liang-Wan Zhe-Xian" returned with formidable energy once again. With a unified goal, the team set their sights squarely on the high monetary prize, showing strong determination to win. Yet, even more impressive than their ambition was the resilient spirit and team chemistry forged through repeated collaboration — reflecting the organizers’ hope to inspire through this cross-disciplinary relay race.

Highlight 2: A Microcosm of the Global Village! International Team "Flash" Demonstrates the Spirit of Cross-Disciplinary Integration. Another standout team drawing the crowd's attention was "Flash," composed entirely of international students. With members hailing from 10 different countries, the team serves as a true microcosm of a global village. Students from diverse cultural backgrounds and languages united through sports, sprinting together on the track toward a shared goal—a perfect reflection of NCKU's active promotion of internationalization and multidisciplinary learning in recent years.

With today's races concluded, the live preliminary rankings are officially complete!
