Anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) phenomenon has triggered great interest since the development of AMR sensors for magnetic recording. In classical iron, cobalt and nickel alloys this effect originates from an anisotropy in electron scattering due to spin-orbit interaction (SOI).
