NCKU announces Huey-Jen Su as first female president

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Taiwan, will have its first female president in February 2015, the university revealed recently.

Dr. Huey-Jen Su will become the next president of NCKU. She is the first female president in the NCKU’s 83-year history.

Dr. Su who currently serves as Executive Vice President of NCKU will succeed Dr. Hwung-Hweng Hwung and take office in February 2015.

Dr. Su said she will continue to strengthen NCKU’s research excellence by building on its research capabilities, pioneering new research areas and developing platforms to facilitate international collaboration with strategic research partners.

NCKU will be a globally-oriented university, in the distinguished league of the world’s leading universities, according to Dr. Su.
