Two NCKU Administrators Recognized with their Contribution on Administration
Dr. Woei-Shyan Lee, the Secretary General of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Dr. Jyh-Hong Chen, the Superintendent of NCKU Hospital were been conferred with identification by NCKU President, Dr. Michael M.C. Lai for their contribution on school administration. NCKU has won the first place of "2008 Service Quality Award" and NCKU Hospital won the "2008 Personnel Innovative Award" and "2008 Outstanding Manager Award."
Most importantly, NCKU was the only university who obtained the medal for "2008 Service Quality Award" among more than one hundred universities in Taiwan. Dr. Re-Chen Cheng, Minister of Education will confer the medal to NCKU on 2nd of April.
Dr. Woei-Shyan Lee (Distinguished Professor of Dept. Mechanical Engineering), served as a Secretary General, supervised "Group HiQ", which consists of 14 NCKU administrative agencies, to actively promote the service quality.
Dr. Woei-Shyan Lee has been making outstanding achievement and contribution to teaching, research and social service. He devoted himself to the promotion of teaching, learning and research environment during his tenure as director of Dept. Mechanical Engineering. During his 2-year service as Secretary General, Dr. Lee assists NCKU President to reform school administration, promote service quality and efficiency and enhance NCKU's international recognition and prominence.
In Dr. Jyh-Hong Chen's endeavors to tap new resources and reduce expenses, the NCKU Hospital, located in the southern Taiwan with barren financial revenue, its annual profits mounted 70% more than last year, top of all public hospitals.
Dr. Chen emphasizes on patients' benefit more than hospital's profits. NCKU Hospital always put patients in its minds and aims to be the best providers of the medical service of the greatest quality. It is also the mission of the NCKU Hospital along with the NCKU College of Medicine to endeavor to the best medical education institute in Taiwan and in the world.
