K. Y. Li Scholarship Awarded 96 NCKU Students

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, announced the recipients of the 22nd K. Y. Li Scholarship on April 26th. The awarded 96 students each received NT$10,000 (US$346), and a certificate.
Dozens of professors and guests, including former presidents Jer-Ru Maa and Zheng-Yi Weng, Vice President Hong-Sen Yan, Director Chii-Jeng Lin of Office of Student Affairs, Dean Pao-Shan Yu of College of Engineering and Chairman Kuo-Chin Chuang of Far East Machinery Co., Ltd., attended the awarding ceremony.
The K. Y. Li Scholarship is primarily donated by Prof. Ke-Yang Li’s disciples for the teaching and caring of Prof. Li and his wife and the awards enrolled NCKU engineering students in recognition of their outstanding performance and easing their financial burdens.
“I’m very touched to see that each year Prof. Li personally creates his own cards for the awarded students,” said Vice President Hong-Sen Yan. “It is not the amount of the award that matters but the love embedded within that truly shows the spirit of NCKU.”
This year, the scholarship totaled NT$960,000, including NT$600,000 donated by E-Ton Solar’s Chairman Stephen Wu, NT$200,000 donated by Jun Ming Foundation, NT$40,000 donated by Prof. Jen-Fin Lin and NT$120,000 donated by 84-year-old Prof. Ke-Yang Li himself.
